We had an amazing day fishing at the Mt. Shasta Hatchery. They allowed kids under 12 (with help from parents) to come fish in the pond there. The kids had a blast. Grandpa and Jeremy were so busy putting bait on lines that they missed most of the action. The kids were catching fish about 1 a min. The first time we put the net in to bring up a fish Kyla caught we came out with 2 fish. It was crazy.

Kyla proudly displays Gracie, her rainbow trout. Gracie will be served for dinner tonight.
This is James before he got sprayed with blood from the fish he caught.
He did not find that amusing.

Jeremy and Ella get ready to real up a big one.

A guide at the Hatchery teaches Jaden how to take the fish off the hook.

Grandpa adds to our amazing haul.

Kyla and Ella hang out at the park before lunch.
We went on a hike to work up an appetite.
The kids had fun crossing the plywood bridges. Each one narrower then the next.
Jaden drinks from the headwaters of the Sacramento river. It was delicious!

Our Ward Country Fair!

This is my favorite ward activity. Every year the activity committie turns the pear orchard into a country fair. Complete with games, face painting, cotton candy, dunk tanks, and my personal favorite the fry bread booth. This year Jeremy and Jaden both won their heats of the pie eating contest. Way to go guys! I am so proud of you. My men have mad pie eating skills. They didn't get it from me though. No one can beat Sunni, she's like a vaccum cleaner. Enjoy the pictures.

10 days and counting...

Only 10 days left till the BYU opener against Arizona. We are so excited... Can you tell? During football season our lives revolve around BYU and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are leaving on Thursday night (Aug 30th) and driving to Provo, along with 30 of our closest friends (Did I mention how much we love our ward!) This is one of our favorite traditions. Normally we all drive out for homecoming, but there were some time conflicts this year. Grandma and Grandpa King are watching the girls for us.(Thankyou so much!) Jaden loves this time with just his parents, and we love the quiter car drive. Go Cougars!

Eight Random Facts

Here you go Jeanine. This one's for you.

1. I much prefer folding laundry to doing dishes. I really dislike touching food other people have touched (or food that has touched other food, Yuck!)

2. When I go jogging I always have to run to the exact spot I started from or I feel like I haven't completed my workout.

3. I am a morning person. If dinner isn't made or at least groceries bought by 10 am, it's not getting done. (I love my crock pot)

4. My husband says to mention that I love popping zits. He finds this fact extremely disgusting.

5. I hate cheerleaders. Even at age 30 they still bother me. I have nothing against cheering for people. I am pretty good at that myself, ask anyone. But official cheerleaders drives me crazy.

6. Not a secret, but I am terrified of rodents and fish of all kinds. I make Jeremy get in lakes and splash around to scare them away before I get in.

7. I startle easily. I sleep on the farthest side of the bed from the door so that if the kids come in at night I don't sit up screaming. Jeremy intervenes before I know their there. That was after one terrifying incident when Jaden was 3. Me and him both ended up on the floor screaming our heads off.

8. No matter how many time people correct me I will always say "Me and (fill in the blank)" even though it is not proper english. I don't care dad. (He still corrects me to this day).

Kathleen, Carrie, Anja, Jenn, and Lisa I tag you!

Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and they should read your blog.

Well it's 3 o'clock in the morning ...

Girl's night out was awesome. After months of missing girls night out I was finally able to make it last friday. We had a great time, but I bet you didn't know that it takes 8 hours to make 4 girls look fabulous. Thank you Carrie for letting us use all you equipment. We couldn't of done it without you. This is now going to be a monthly thing and I can not wait. The pictures are on Kathleen's page (Skabeland) and Anja's (Eisenbrandt's) page. I won't duplicate them here. Although I have to say that Kathleen left out the best part of the evening. When she pretended to be a cheerleader and her foot came down on a pizza tray and she slid into the splits. As if that wasn't funny enough the pizza tray was holding not one, but two hot curling irons which of course she stepped on during her graceful routine. (Don't worry she wasn't hurt, but my stomach sure got a laughter workout). It was so fun to spend time with the girls. Can't wait to see you all next month.
