Symbiotic relationship

I post this picture just to remind you how sweet my girls look before you read this hideous conversation that just transpired at our house. We have just gotten home from a cub scout pack meeting at the park. Jeremy had been talking to another father about how he got his son to stop sucking his thumb. (We thought Kyla had broke the habit but apparently not). He said he used to threaten his son that he would stick his sons thumb up his nose then he wouldn't want to suck it because it would be covered with boogers. Makes sense, right? So Jeremy comes home and tells Kyla this theory.
She says, "That's OK! I know Ella likes to eat boogers, so I'll just give them to her."
Ella exclaims, "I LOVE THEM!!!!"
So about 10 min later Jeremy proceeds to stick Kyla's thumb up his nose which in turns leaves her in complete hysterics for about 45 min. She could not be consoled...but she wasn't sucking her thumb when I went in to kiss her! I don't know if this is a method will use on a regular basis, but it did the trick for one night.

that's disgusting! But also very funny. Thanks for the books. I should probably be reading right now instead of doing this! :>)

That's funny! When Carrie was little, she had a friend who sucked her thumb for a very long time. One night Carrie's Dad saw her friend sucking her thumb and told her this story. He said that his cousin was sucking his thumb in bed while he was a sleep. One night his cousin fell off his bed while he was sucking his thumb, and he bit his thumb right off. Carries friend never sucked her thumb again.

That is a hilarious story Lissa...way to be creative! I do think that story needs to be heard in person because throwing the arms up in the air while saying "I LOVE THEM" adds quite the effect. Hope you're enjoying the opening ceremony right now...I'm turning off the computer and heading to the tv.
